2013 Ram Dakota
The 2013 Ram Dakota (all Dodge trucks are now under the Ram nameplate) will have the same underpinnings as the 2013 Jeep Gladiator and feature the Pentastar V6. This new motor will be joined with an 8-speed transmission. This should allow the 2013 Ram Dakota to produce close to 300 horsepower and achieve 23-25 mpg on the highway. As with other Chrysler products, the Dakota’s interior should see vast improvements over the past model’s. This will give the Dakota a long overdue refresh and help sales greatly.
Around the same time as the Dakota’s release a new Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado and Jeep Gladiator will be hitting the market. This competition in the mid-size truck market will produce some great products. Our guess is that Ram will make these improvements to the Dakota in the coming years.
